This post will probably be moved. But the LS1 will eat your lunch with your current mods, especially once you get to 70mph and up. If the mustang only runs 14.8s, you should take him quite easily (although he should be running near 14 flats). A healthy LT1 will run anywhere from a 13.8 to 14.3 with a good launch (i.e. near 2.0 60'). And the LT1s still have more top end than the 99+ GTs, so if you street race make sure you run long enough so you can kill him on top end.

The LS1 will walk you The Stang should be a decent race with you pulling the win out on him.

Personally i think if you get a good launch on the stang he wont ever catch up. every time i have raced one you can really see the difference in my low end torque than theirs. And i steadily pull away after.

But then again. there is really only 1 way to answer you questions. Throw $20 on the race with the stang and go for it. Bet no money against the LS1. Unless you like buying his lunch

Edit: where in texas are you?

i'm in palmview,tx.

i was pretty sure i could walk the stang but i have heard that from light to light an lt1 can take an LS1. i remember this 2001 Z28 i raced at the track was running 13.87 and i took him more than half track, he didnt catch me till the end. i had him by almost 3 cars by the 1/8 mile. (he ran a 13.9)
