They will work fine and won't require machining your heads as everyone is gonna come in and tell you that. My buddy is running them on his 224/230. I've heard that the 918's bee hives are suppose to be a lot better though. I haven't looked into them much because i already have my cam.

If that's the combination cam, you might want to call them. I had the 987 spring, and they talked me out of it. I returned them for 978's. It wasn't for that exact cam, but the numbers are close.

Hate to hijack, but to 978's require machining? I thought the 987's did. I think a member here has a horror story. He didn't machine his heads like he was told he didn't need to, and the outcome wasn't so good. Might want to dig into that more.

Do a search, me and my friend Turbo_z have posted on the 987's on stock heads several times. They do work. Turbo_z had them on his stock heads and now has them on his unmachined LE1 heads. Combo will probably try to sell him their 612's which are a single spring. I would much rather have the dual 987's if i'm choosing between the two.

When I purchased my cam from CM during the group purchase last year, they gave me the 612's and I was going to use the 233/239 with 1.6 pro mags. The lift cam to .569 int/ .577 exh. That would have been about max for the 612's. When lloyd set up my heads after porting, we went with 987's w/ titanium retainers. Then I talked to Lloyd a bit more and now we are doing a custom grind using 918 beehive springs. I was going to give up to much with 233/239 in my 383. Now it will be like the GM847..... with a lil' more lift
