it should fit under the Ultra Z hood since it fits under a WS6 hood. On the WS6 hood I had to cut out the baffels to fit it. I believe I'm using a base model (not a WS6) radiator support and it has an aftermarket lid. I can reach in the WS6 scoop on my hood and touch the inside of the lid. Pretty cool setup.
Hell, an LS1 has even been stuck under an LT1 cars' WS6 hood with no problems

Think for a minute where each source their air from...
The LS1 lids draw air from the high pressure area in front of the radiator, and people who have done this swap have reported increase in et and more importantly (for hp comparison reasons anyway) increased mph at the track over the average LT1 CAI system. Do a search on this subject on this site, or on LS1tech and you'll see what I'm refering to

i think this is not worthwhile, and havent seen any SOLID proof yet.
all the cars ive seen running this setup have been pretty un-impressive, and the guys saying they picked up time/mph had inconsistant cars to begin with.

I am going to test this dyno and track
I do have a little better fabrication background than some I have seen...I don't do hack jobs....I think I have found a way to do it with a stock hood but there will be some work involved. Will let you know what happens

Not that I would know first hand, (I'm still running the K&N CAI) but I think your wrong with that statement.

He is right!!
On the dyno there is no high pressure on the air dam to create the ram air effect, needed for higher dyno numbers, BUT at the track i saw a 1.2-1.6 mph increase. Runs were made on different nights, but compariable DA btwn weekends. On the street i noticed a car and a half in the top end, cant really tell past 60mph
