98+ axle length

Is the rear axle length for the 98+ axle longer than the 96-97 axle?

according to aftermarket rear diffs are usually the same from '93 up

Not positive if it is longer or shorter (I think longer), but the length is different. It is due to the different brakes used. It is a small amount.

Has anyone put them in their pre-98 f-body?

There have been some posts by people that have done it. You will have rotor/caliper clearance problems if you don't use the LS1 brakes or make some shims to correct the interference.

I picked up some '02 axles that are in very good shape and very cheap. Is it worth the trouble to use them or should I just by new ones that are for my year?
