No use in speculating...the SES light is on for a reason. You should have it scanned to give you a good place to start.

agreed. scan it at autozone for what code the ses is throwing. i recently had the most common one, the random cylinder misfire. ended up being a few old/useless plugs and one spark plug wire that was worn down from rubbing against something and started grounding/arching out to something. got new plugs and wires and all is well. their not cheap or fun to do on these LT1's tho : /

When you have it scanned, get the EXACT numercial code(s). The generic list of code interpretations that you get at most places are not as useful as looking the codes up on an LT1-specific list. They'll tell you something like "it's an O2 sensor code", and unless you have the specific code, you won't know any more than when you started.

well i know a tuneup is in order...i need to get it to start before i can get it to a store...unless someone close has one that they could bring over and allow my use which for i would reimburse...but i have a starter enroute and i need to know what all parts i need to perform a tuneup apart from an air and fuel filter. and where the best place to purchase would be...thanks for all the help in advance
