97 Z28 I need the help for back up at the stealership

I was driving one today & the low coolant light came on it was running warm, the gauge said 210 -220 sitting at the light but would drop to about 185- 190 while driving. So I got it home & turned it off & it started puking antifreeze out the overflow cap. The antifreeze was like a bronze color. Do they even make such a bronze color antifreeze, or does it have more problems? Then the tranny started shifting hard when it was running warm. I went back out there & drove it around for about 15 min & the coolant light was off but it started running a little warm & it was shifting softer but it didn't puke anymore antifreeze up but the service engine light came on & stays on. The coolant is full

Thanks for your all's help
I'm new at the camaro scene.
Bill

The coolant in later LT1 cars is orange (Dexcool). As for boiling out, sounds like maybe the radiator cap is bad or loose, as it shouldn't be boiling out at that low of a temperature

I drove it Saturday & it puked antifreeze & they took it to the shop this morning & he called me back & said the radiator cap was bad & they replaced it & it's fine now. I wonder if they put the wrong cap on it
Would bad coolant & running a little warm make the service engine light come on?

Thanks
Bill

Yeah, I figured that was it. As for the SES light, pull the codes and find out what the PCM thinks is going on. Sometimes it's something very simple.
