97 z power steering issues

i went to the local car show the other night, and noticed some leakage under my car,and when i checked it out intially, didnt see anything wrong. so when i was leaving,it felt as is not having any power steering at all for a couple seconds, then it came back, anyways i got it home, and now, when i tried steering it around to get it into my garage, it makes the power steering whine, only 3 times as bad.and looked at it again, and i have fluid coming from somewhere around there, not sure where,do you think my pump is shot? or could i have a loose line somehow? the car just turned 117xxx miles. anyway to manually turn the wheels with motor off, would that spit fluid out? i cant tell where it is coming from with out the motor running to my knowledge.and i cant see down there with the alternator hooked up. thanks.

and if it needs replacement, any tips or write ups would be greatly appreciated, although it looks fairly straight forward. thanks again.

It will whine if there is air in the system. First you need to find the leak and fix it. Then see if the whine goes away. All pretty easy, get lots of light in there, look from underneath, remove the alt. if you have to.
Everyone should at least have a cheap repair manual from the auto parts store. If you need to replace the pump later.
