97 SS: What does she put down?

What does a typical 1997 Camaro SS put down for rwhp? The motor is stock with the Ram-Air, 6-speed, 3" catback with flowmaster muffler. The car feels like it runs very strong. Any estimates? If I am not wrong, it is advertised 305hp at the flywheel.

Not enough man so it's time for mods. That's why your here in the LT1 tech page, right?

I am just trying to get a feeling for how it compares to a 95GT 5speed with mods. The owner claims he puts down 240rwhp on dyno. My guess was I put down 275rwhp with more torque than the GT.

My car dynoed at 272rwhp and 299rwtq when it was stock. The 96/97 SS were advertised to make 310 fwhp with the optional SLP cat back exhaust.

With very little mods (K&N, pullies) I pulled 287hp/323tq on a dyno before headers and tuning.

I never dynoed mine stock, but the LT1 SS's dynoed about the same as the Zs from my observation. The nice SLP SS exhaust (2otL) may net about 5hp at the wheel, but production variances between LT1 engines is higher than that from my observation from participating in a number of group F-body dyno sessions.
I say that MadneSS's number appear more typical than JeffK's. But instead of asking us, wander on over to your local dynojet place and do a few pulls to know for sure what your's does. There is surely on within a hundred miles from where you live. Once you have a good base point, then you can let the mods begin.
