I think the HP was only like 320ish. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Hell the new LS1 engines only put out 350.

The LT4 SS/Firehawks were only available as hardtop M6 cars, and were rated at 330HP. The base SS for 97 was rated at 305HP. Have him get the SLP options off the passenger side door and I can help you decode them to find out what SLP options the car has. The base package on the SS included:
Ram air hood w/intake
17x9" SS wheels with 275/40 tires
catback exhaust
Pretty much everything else (suspension, diff, shifter, etc) was an option from SLP.

My buddy had a 96 SS with an auto and the SLP TOTL exhaust. He dyno'd at 255hp and I forget the torque. Gotta love that SLP exhaust on a dyno....

I don't know where you are getting that info, but everything that I've found on the LT4 cars says M6 only. That includes talking with SLP about them.

Wink

IN Car and Driver they had a camaro, trans am, cobra shootout in 1996 and the camaro killed eveything(don't know why, the trans am is the same thing) But they ran a 13.6 @103 which is the best time that they ever got with an Fbody. With a brand new 98 z28 they could only run a 13.8 @102. Why the better time with the slower car= LT1's are cooler.

I have that Car and Driver and read it on a monthly basis (OK, I have no life). I still think that car was "tweaked" somehow. It was running some very strong numbers.
