Exclamation '97 Power Door Locks Acting Up... Any Help??

My power door locks stopped working about 2 weeks ago. I got the chance to change them out yesterday. Well, before replacing the lock actuators, only the drivers side door lock worked to unlock the door. It would not lock. As for the passengers side, it wouldn't lock or unlock.
Well, after replacing the lock actuators, everything is the same. Only the drivers side door unlocks, it wont lock, and no motion on the passengers side door.
The switches have to be working cause the drivers and passengers side door switches unlock the drivers side door.
Does this mean the BCM (Body Control Module) has gone bad? When the passengers side door stopped working, there was a strong burning odor in the car?

Unhappy Re: '97 Power Door Locks Acting Up... Any Help??

Well, Like I said, I bought New Lock Actuators. They BOth work on the Drivers side door, but only to unlock the door. Both brand new lock motors wont lock the door. And as for that, the passenger side lock motor will work when hooked up to the drivers side door, but like the new ones, only to unlock the door. Not lock it. I was just hoping someone else had been through this to let me know their experience before I go spend 200 somthn for the BCM.

Both switches (connected) and wiring must be in working order for both locks to operate properly. Switches are cheaper than a BCM, if you want to try it.
