Question 97 LT1, rolling rockers?

I was wondering if my car has rolling rockers. I have a 97 Trans am LT1. If not is it worth buying some? If so what kind? And what else is needed? Can I just pull the valve covers and change them out and be done? How much power would I be getting out of these?
Thanks

You dont have true roller rockers, at minimum you need self aligning 1.6 rockers and LT4 springs for the added lift. Gains vary from 7rwhp to 15+rwhp.

Re: 97 LT1, rolling rockers?

LT4 springs around 40-50, Roller Rockers anywhere from $150 to $375. Popular ones are GMPP 1.6 RR's which are 3/8 stud and self aligning, you can also go with the better Comp Cam Pro Magnum self aligning or non self aligning 1.6 RR's in either 3/8 or 7/16 stud sizes. They run around $250-270 but if you get 7/16 size you need new 7/16 studs ($20-$40) since they stockers are 3/8 and if you get NSA you need to get hardened pushrods ($25) and GM guideplates ($15). NSA cost more since you need the extras but are more stable, as do 7/16 studs, but they deflect less than 3/8 studs. Hope this helps, I am in the process of doing the swap myself.

If you take the valve springs off you have to make sure the valves don't fall so becareful.
