Yes they exsist. All where V8's, it is an upgrade package from the Z28. Some came with the LT4 (very few if I remember correctly) and all the others had the LT1 with a slightly higher HP rating (dont know the numbers off the top of my head, but I'm sure someone around here does).

im pretty sure only 104 white '97's (i think it was the vette that had the LT4 in '96) with the orange stripes got the LT4...and if i remember correctly all 104 were SS's not z28's...the rest had an LT1 rated at 315hp with the optional SLP "two on the left exhaust"

LT4 was in the 96 Grand Sport and Collector's Edition Vettes. Then SLP put 109 in SSs (100 US, 9 Canadian), and 30 Firehawks (29 production, 1 prototype) for 97. If you can find one, I'd highly recommend the 97 LT4 cars. I have seen some of them with higher miles (50K+) sell for under $20,000.
