96 T/A no start

96 T/A ws6 no start

ive got battery
i am able to hot wire the starter from the battery to the starter (works)
i did a search and nothing comes up with this kind of problem only slow starting and starts then dies issues

i thought then maybe neutral saftey switch but if that failed it would only allow to start the car in gear/neutral.
any suggestion would help
thanks

Re: 96 T/A no start

i am able to pop the clutch and it will start and run fine. i can hot wire the starter direct and it will start fine

i forgot to mention that when the key is all the way forward where it cant go any farther the previous owner had a security switch installed to where you have to hold the pass power window motor up to start the car. when the key is foward it has power but nothing and when you hit the switch it enables the starter.

any ideas which wires the window switch would be tied into?

So you know where your problem is and no one is gonna know what wires until you trace them out and tell us. Have fun.

Re: 96 T/A no start

You need to take off the plastic peice on the pass. side near the door. The window wire is a light blue wire there's two (95 ta) it's the thicker one. It's like a 12 gauge wire and the other ones like a 16-18gauge. The thicker wire is the one that was spliced into to make the window starter kill. It probably runs to a simple relay somewhere just follow the wires. You can undo the connections and change it back to stock from there. HTH
