Seller doesn't know what he's talking about.

Unfortunately, the seller has the option of posting or not posting a question with his answer on his add. Bet you he won't post it!

Bet you he did:

Q: there were no 350HP version's of the LT1.. The motor itself has the capability of 350hp w/ a good set of headers and intake.. but in the form you are selling it.. is only 290hp or so...

A: You are correct and as I've pointed out to anyone who has emailed me on that, it is a 285hp motor - not 350hp.

Im suprised nobody mentioned the 69/70 lt1 that made 350hp. That is probably where the 350hp idea came from. 96 backward is 69 so seller could have made a typo when researching the lt1 motor.

The engine used in the earlier Camaro/Corvettes was the "LT-1" with a hyphen... not "LT1" without the hyphen.

Carry on.

We scrounged up a 5.5-year old thread for this???????????

As I'm a novice, any help here would be highly appreciated.
96 what? Camaro? I don't think they came out with but 285 hp in the Z28 and 330 hp in the Z28 ss. I do believe they have aluminum heads for that year.

F-Body LT1:

- 93-95 = 275 HP

- 96-97 = 285 HP (allegedly due to dual cats in place of single cat)

See 1996 Camaro sales brochure:
