Arrow 96 LT-1 no start isues

I'm trying to help a friend with his 96 TA that just up and died on him last night while we were out cruising.

We have 40 + LBS fuel pressure w/ key on and almost 50 cranking.
I have no spark at #1 plug or from coil to opti.
Voltage to ICM is 8.2 w/ key on (Pink wire)
Voltage to Coil from ICM is 8.2 w/ key on Pink wire)

I put a new coil on it and it made no difference.

Someone said the CPS would cause our issue?

I could really use some help here

Did you scan it for codes?

CKP doesn't keep it from starting or running. Its just there to monitor for misfires. If it was bad, it would set a code.

No spark from coil to Opti could indicate that the computer isn't seeing a signal from the opti. Shoebox has a method for finding out: http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#opti_test

Good luck!

But that would set codes for the missing pulse signals.

8.2v sounds suspect. It should have battery voltage there. If battery voltage is that low, then it isn't going to start, anyway.

Low batt so I went back and check again today and it comes back 11V.

After doing more checks on the Opti I believe it's my problem.

The Pink/Black wire from the opti grounds out and from the test I read that shouldn't happen.

So..........................................out comes the opti!
