96 keyed crank hub with washer???

I was reading thru some of the posts that the 96 crank hub is keyed vs. the 94. I've also read that the 96 hub is a little shorter.

I know that you can buy a keyed hub but I would like to save a few bucks if I can.

Is it possible to use the 96 hub on the 94 with the correct size washer? Also does the washer have to be keyed as well?

Can this washer be bought some where?

Thanks,

Scott

pretty sure none of them are keyed.. only crankshaft has a keyway. I wouldnt want to mess with a washer or anything on the hub. I'd just buy a keyed hub or fluidampr/ati damper.

No factory LT1 hubs are keyed (any year). If you wanted to use a 96> hub on a pre 96, you would need a spacer that is equivalent to the thickness of the reluctor used for the crank position sensor used on the 96> engines. That spacer would likely need to be keyed like the crank timing gear.

I just ordered a Keyed hub for my engine. Now its a 96, is there gonna be a problem if the keyed hub is not a 96 hub that they put a key way in?
