Im getting a 96 Impalla SS long block from a local guy by me. I know I have to upgrade my opti to a vented style, my question is what else should i have to change over or is it a direct drop in connector for connector..??

I know the waterpump is different but i can use my z's wp right?


Also I have some old 374 casting heads, are these better than the heads that will be on the impalla? i heard/read that the iron heads flow BETTER then the aluminums? I know Im wrong someone please correct me...

 

they might flow better but the compression diff SUCKS

ok I have the block and heads only, no harness or trans. Im throwing In all my accesories from my motor to this one. I know I need a vented opti now and harness piece, that's it right? Im also throwing in a gm847cam, and I'm buying the gm impalla ss headgaskets. Anyone know of a recent kit available? Also I need that tube that goes to the back of the head. What's the pn for that?
