96-97 SLP dual cat header opinions/experiences
I'm considering getting a set of SLP dual cat shorty headers for my 96 Z28. I'm looking for input from people who have run these headers on their cars. Any problems or heat issues? How about performance gains? How bad is the install?
Please don't tell me to put long tubes on my car instead. I live in California and the car needs to stay smog legal, which means not moving the cats, so long tubes are NOT an option.
Thanks!

I got them on my car, install wasn't bad, just tightning the header bolts. Well worth it in the performance area. Just beat a 04 GTO A4 last night from a stop and a roll, not by much, about 1/2 car to a car. I can almost beat my buddys 00 SS A4 camaro, he gets me by about a car, before it was a lot more.

I thought they were considered midlengths ??? not that it matters . I like mine , my friends all have longtubes but even they tell me its not worth all the money and hassle of switching to longtubes. They mount right up to the factory y pipe. The only downside to them which I think is the same with most headers is they heat the crap outta your engine bay. my friends have longtubes and I swear after they cut off thier car my engine bay feels twice as hot as thiers.
