You DO NOT want those on your car, even if they would work. I dont think they would anyways, becuase they are made for dual cat cars, and you are single. You can go from dual so single, but I dont think you can go from single to dual, at least with the header style. But you might be able to. However, you are gonna be losing power compared to a 93-95 style header.

Is the 93-95 style header that different? Are the bends in the header that dramatic? I'm not being sarcastic, seriously I wish I had a visual comparison of each style header so I can see why everyone is saying that 96-97 style headers are peices of dookie-doo. I have the 96-97 style slp's and I want to compare the bends. I dont see what the problem is besides our cars having the dual cats, which you can just get an offroad pipe. If you have any pics, I would like to see.

Well, they arent THAT dramatic, but you can definetely tell a difference. Basically, the passenger side header isnt that bad, but the driver side header is the one that is different. It is alot shorter and more compact than the passenger side. You can see it when you look at this website, look at the one on top, and then on bottom, you can see that one of the headers looks alot more squished up and compact. That is the 96-97 style header. And those SLP ones are shorties, im going to be getting some MAC headers this summer, they flow better and look better. Im going with the 94-95 style ones.

Caps lock off please. And yeah, you can definetely get 94-95 headers on a 96, however, it requires slight modification. You will need a CAT that works with those headers, you will need a Y-Pipe for those headers, and if you already have an aftermarket exhaust system, you will need to get an s-pipe that mates the y-pipe to the exhaust system. However, if you buy a exhaust system at the same time as you do the headers, just buy a system made for a 94-95.
Alright then, What you think about this. I'm going to buy a set of hooker longtubes and a y-pipe from SUMMIT. What else would I need for this set up on a '96 z28. I also saw a add somewhere on a piece where it would let you run open or closed exhaust. what would I need for those emissions. She's already lowered with the eibach pro kit springs. Would it still have decent ground clearence..........
Long Tubes plus lowering is not a good combo, or so i've heard. I dont have any personal experience, but the general consensus is that those two dont go to well together. But if you did go with them, you would need a custom y-pipe. And if you wanted open headers at the touch of a button, you need to get an electric cut-out. I would love to get one, but they dont fit the budget.
Ther's that y-pipe in the summit catalog from stainless works, it says that their for the hooker long tubes 93-97 LT1. You think that would work. What about all of those emission sensors and stuff. How do I deal with that..
The reason that I wanted to go with pacesetter are because they are cheap.. I really dont have that much money or else I would do longtubes....... The only problem is that I want to lower my car and put nice rims on it, and longtubes create a problem..... Plus I have a 93 so I would have to convert to heated 02's and get extenders.
