95 z28 wont start

ok im just hoping that its not the distributor, but my car ran perfectly fine yesterday, and today when i tried to start it, via auto start it didnt wanna turn on, got in my car and continued to try to start and it would crank but sometimes struggled to turn over very slight turn. it hasnt been over a year or up to a year since i had a brand new distributor/optispark put in, and i even had to get the upper cable last time.. i can definitely smell a spark smell from the engine bay. it seams like every year i end up having to change the damn distributor heh

When you say "it would crank but sometimes struggled to turn over very slight turn." do you mean that the starter continues to "crank" the engine at normal speed, and that the engine would only attempt to start ("turn over") occasionally? If it tried to start, did that include any indication that there was a combination of fuel and spark, enough to allow it to run for a second or so?

Have you checked the fuel pressure? Have you scanned it for codes?

When you say "i can definitely smell a spark smell from the engine bay", do you mean there is a smell like burned electronics? Or do you mean there is a fuel smell? I'm not sure I ever smelled "spark".

starter still works throughout, it attempts to turnover for like a second, and i get the smell of burning sparkplug

with my car the only way to scan for codes is with a mechanics tech device, autozone and other places dont sell the adapter that would work to have my own.

All you need to scan your car is an OBD-I scanner (you can find used Auto Xray OBD-I scanners on eBay cheap), and a couple jumper wires.

You can also use free scan software, a cable and a laptop:
