Welcome to this website,I would get a scanner and scan it for codes before you do anything else thats what most of the guys on here say to start with before doing anything else in a situation like that.

Have you verified the fuel pressure is correct?

sorry it took so long for me to post again

I took a reading with key in on position and pressure in great then starts to slowly drop I jumped a wire from pos side of battery to the wire under the hood to bypass the relay and pressure goes right up and holds strong

still same problem starts right up then stalls

Re: 95 z28 no start

What do you consider "great" pressure? How about the actual number?

The pressure drops slowly when you have the key in the "run" position because the pump only runs for a couple seconds, and then shuts off until the engine starts.

Did you observe the fuel pressure when the engine started, and then stalled?

Hate to ask this... but could you include some punctuation in your posts? Hard to understand them without it.

pressure goes to around 45-48lbs when key is turned to run position. It then starts to drop slowly this is with the key in the run position not cranking. I did not take a reading while actually cranking. I did see that when I hooked up the jumper wire it does stay at a steady 45-48lbs without dropping. car only starts for a second then stalls and won't start again for a few minutes. it cranks over fine but wont start. if I wait a few minutes it again starts right up for about a second or two then stalls.

Re: 95 z28 no start

Watch the pressure gauge as it starts, and see what happens when it stalls. Does the fuel pressure suddenly drop?

Have you scanned it for codes? If you have a code (DTC 16) for loss of low resolution pulse signal from the optical cam position sensor in the Optispark distributor, the PCM will shut down the fuel system. Getting a 95 scanned is always a problem, because it has a 16-pin OBD-II style ALDL connector for the scanner, but the PCM is OBD-I. The shop needs to understand they have to use an OBD-I scanner, and a 12-pin to 16-pin adapter.

fuel pressure goes to 48lbs with key in run position. When cranking it goes to 50lbs plus. The gauge I am using only goes to 50 and it pegs it out. when it starts the pressure stays at 50lbs. As soon as it stalls the pressure starts to drop. I do not have a scanner at this time but will try to get one and post up codes. Perhaps a vats problem??? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Again thank you for your help
