i hve a 1995 z28 6 speed it idles fine but when the engine gets warm i hear a tick i can take off fine in first but after that it misses or looses power in 2 thru 6th ear when i exellorate hard ive been trying to fix thi problem for a while its getting very frustrateing i have replaced o2 sensors, plugs, wires, i am curently puting on a new coil and remote mounting it and a new distributor. i curenty have the msd cap and rotor kit, on the car with original distributor i have ceramic coated hooker headers with gutted cat after o2 sensors slp loudmouth exaust and cold air intake. can someone please help me out this is the biggest pain in the but

 

The first step is to get it scanned for trouble codes. Now, since it's a '95, it's OBDI, but it has an OBDII port, and that confuses a lot of people.

 

yes i know about the obd1 an obd2 port the check engine light does not come on could there still be codes?

 

There are some codes that do not turn on the SES.

I'd check the wires again.

 

I am right where you are - same issue. I have been told its the opti. That is what I am replacinf now. I will let you know if that fixes it.

 

yah its a pain in the buttt man ive got a new opti havnt put it on yet but i am relocaing the coil i bout a new accel 8140 super coil and remote mounting it i think that my old msd coil that mountd in the oem location on the head was arcing to the head.

 

mopar man before i changed the wires the were arcing on headers so i got dei ire protectors and other wrap and completly covered the spark plug wires so they do not arc. also my egr may need replacing that wouldnt cause th miss fire would it? i plan on just blocking it off will that throw a code and cause further problems else were?

 

paul 94z28 i also was told by msd tech support that the opti's bearings in the input shaft will go bad there fore causeing the rotor button and ect, to fluctuate and case the miss? what about the ignition module could that be a cause?????
