95' Y pipe in a 97?

oK here is the deal....I got quiet exhaust so I wanna take off the cats. I have a 97 camaro Z28 and i have a 95 Y pipe and offroad pipe to put on. My car is running a 13.8 at the track and i dont wanna lose power. Is there away i can rig something up to keep the 97 Y pipe with no cats? If I put on the 95 pipe, will the sensors be all F'ed up, and will the car run right.
BTW- the 97 pipe is dual cat....

No, 95 pipe won't work on your 97. Check this thread out. http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...hreadid=154056

Ok I checked that post out.....If I take out the cats and put in straight pipes, Will I lose any Horsepower at all, and will it go into the limp mode or whatever?

a 95 y pipe will work on a 96, so it should work on a 97.

I have a 96 with 95 mac headers, y pipe and offroad pipe. Trust me, it's on there, so it must work. SES light without 02 sims.

ya but his Y pipe wont bolt onto his stock manifold. He will have to get the 95 mac headers that you have.

It won't bolt on because the flanges are shaped and sized differently on the driver side. If he got the headers to go w/ the Y pipe they will bolt right on to eachother. You'll probably gain around 5 HP. I also got around 20 extra miles per tank.
