does anyone have pictures of the wiring for the 'free' shift kit in the 95 z28? im thinking about mounting the button in front of the console behind the shifter.

Please read the instructions. You must use a momentary contact switch. Touch the switch once, it toggles performance mode on. Touch it again, it toggles it off.

'momentary switch'? does that mean it is only active when i have my finger down on it.? and is perfomance mode anything id want to use in daily driving situations to give better shifts?.. or will it increase transmission pressure and cause premature transmission failure?

You can probably find a ton of info with a search for "performance mode".

The switch provides a momentary ground to the pcm to turn the mode on. You don't hold the switch down. It's like your TV- when it is off, you push the button to turn it on. When it is on, you push the same button to turn it off.

You are utilizing factory programming already in your pcm. It won't hurt your tranny.

I tried this, and noticed no noticeable improvement. Some people say the shifts feel a little firmer afterwords. But hey it's pretty much free so what the heck!

The biggest change is in shift timing. It is not meant to be a replacement for a shift kit, though it does add a little shift firmness depending on conditions.
