if i delete egr from my engine will it set a code?? will i have to have it programed out of the computer

 

The OBD-I EGR diagnostic is not as sensitive as the OBD-II diagnostic. I'd guess that 70-80% of the time you won't get a code for low flow, but its always possible you could be in the minority the does get a code/SES light.

 

if i do get a code will it cause any engine damage? or will it just be the ses light on because i really dont mind a ses light on

 

Mine has been blocked off for some time. No engine damage. No light.

 

I say yes you will get a code. I did on my 95 Z28. I had it turned off in my custom tune. I also removed and installed the EGR delite plates.

 

I don't know if my SES light was for AIR or EGR or both when I removed them. Either way, I had it tuned out. You won't damage anything as long as the ports are blocked off properly.
