im going to swap out the fuel pump on my 95 transam, and wanted to know what the purpose of the sending unit. is is it only for the gas gauge or does it have to do with the way the pump will function properly? does it have any thing to to with the pcm, i cant afford a sending unit and if mine is busted will my new pump still work, i can live with innacurate gas level readings ill just fill it up every chance i get

 

It's just for the gauge-not connected to the PCM.
