when the engine gets up to operating temp the check engine light comes on and if you give more then half throttle the engine falls flat on its face and sometimes stalls. when it is cold it runs like a champ. so far all i have replaced is the fuel filter. any ideas would be helpful, its a 95 z28 with 51500 miles AT. also i am getting a code 16 from ECM.

 

DTC 16 is the low res opti code and could be the reason why your car is stalling. Usually a faulty wiring harness or the optical sensor of the opti itself can cause this.
