I'm working on my '95 LT1 Camaro. I rebuilt the engine 6 months ago and installed a CC306 cam and Comp's beehive springs (cam part number from Summit is CCA-07-306-8 and the springs are CCA-26918-16). I kept the stock heads for now and planned to upgrade later. I also kept the original head studs and went with OEM style rocker arms and nuts. I've had a constant problem with the rocker arm nuts backing off and messing up the valve lash. I'm having to pull the valve covers every 3-4 weeks to adjust the valves again so that they won't rattle. Is this because the stock head studs and nuts aren't meant to hold the additional pressure from the Comp Cams springs? If so, what head studs, rocker arms, and nuts should I go with? I still have the stock valve covers. I appreciate any help!
if iron head than those studs are press in and those can "lift" with aftermarket cam & springs
Been over 20 years since I had stock rockers/nuts so IDK if they are "lock" type nuts. If so maybe they have been used to much and just not holding. On Ford motor (302) I would "double nut" the stamped rocker but I doubt there is enough rocker stud length
I would just buy some ARP 7/16 RR studs and some Comp ultra pro mags RR. You will need to trim the drip baffles on stock valve covers but they otherwise fit fine and trimming is just a 5 min job of the VC
