95 Formula with LT1 automatic to a 427..

Does anyone have any idea where i can find an all aluminum fuel injected 427 with an automatic tranny i could mount up to it?

Also what else would i need to keep the motor from destroying my car...im planning on getting a heavier duty front suspension setup to hold the motor, but what else do i need?

Are you looking for a big block 427, a Gen 1 SBC, or some other "427"? Is it a street car or a track only car. Why do you feel an aluminum 427 would be heavier than your current cast iron block?

The chassis will handle it, with subframe connectors and suspension and drive train mods. There are 4th Gen chassis (including convertibles) running 1,500HP setups and running 7-second and low 8-second 1/4-miles.

Do you realize that engine is like a 20000K motor???

For 20,000, you could build an indestructable 383 and put a nasty *** turbo system on it and make at least double the horsepower that 2006 Zo6 427 is going to make.

I would say as of right now, everything you would need for that motor would be custom.

Not to mention the price for the motor, yea.... for that price, I'd have a TT'd LT1 or 6.0L LSX motor.... not to mention the additional 10-20K that it would take to prep the car for 1000+ HP numbers...

Re: 95 Formula with LT1 automatic to a 427..

The reason im gonna get the 427 is just for the prestige of having it in a 4th Gen F-body, later on down the road im gonna get it supercharged... I know for that amount of money i could get one helluva nice *** motor that pumps out tons of juice....but again its just the mentality of having a 427 (always been my favorite motor cuz of 69 ZL1 with the all-aluminum 427)

Re: 95 Formula with LT1 automatic to a 427..

There's a guy on here running a 427 using a sleeved LT1 block. There's another running a 454 big block he installed completely on his own, in his garage.

GM made a limited run of 200 replica aluminum ZL1's with Ram Jet fuel injection. They still have 50 of them left, according to the recent article in Hot Rod magazine. Price is $17,500.

The new LS7 crate motor should debut for under $14000.

VERY nice motor and should put down 550+ rwhp with a bigger cam. Stock cam is something pathetic like a 208/220 @ .050

The new 2006 Z06s are going low 11s @ 125+ mph bone stock with tires.

Most of the folks on corvetteforums.com believe through insider quotes that this motor is going to be much closer to 20K as opposed to below 15K

Braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaank. Wrong.

Scoggin Dickey Parts Center posted this on LS1tech.com

"Well guys GM did to us what we didn't think they would do. The price of the LS7 crate engine went up a little in price. It's still not bad for what your getting though..............

$13,395.00"

Damn... cheaper than I thought. They won't be able to keep these things stocked. ROFL!

Thats going to be one heck of a 4th gen. Congrats on the motor choice. And i don't blame you for loving the 7.0L, its always been my favorite aswell (ZL1 Camaro and 66 Shelby Cobra). Good luck with the install.

did anyone think of getting in touch with world castings they can make u a block that will mount up to your original top end and tranny. they will recomend p+p specs cam specs and you can get them from 355 up to 454+. prices are definatly be cheaper then 14000 for a shortblock thats for sure.
