I have a '95 F-Bird w 116K miles and 6 speed- been a good car, but recently is acting like it's running out of fuel, when it's not. Sometimes it would have a flat spot at high rpm, more recently it will die out and "choke out" and run erratically on 2 cylinders..... shut it off overnight and it may be OK first thing in the AM. Or it may start on 2 cylinders- just like the one time I ran it out of gas......

I am thinking optical module in distrib or fuel pump; how can I tell which is bad ? other ideas?

It sounds like your opti-spark has gone bad. Pretty common problem on our cars.
