i was convinced that my opti was bad, but now i think it's something else because i checked my plugs and they smell like gas pretty bad i also got grey and sometimes black smoke when i go wot. in the morning when i first start the car grey smoke come's out and sound like i have a mean as cam which i don't i guessing bad valve adjustment since i do also got 1.6 rockers and combination motorsports spring's

 

forgot to mention that it has a high rpm miss and low rpm stumble and sometimes will back fire on full throttle after i let go of gas.

 

Sounds similar to my car. Have you checked your O2 sensors lately?

 

i hav'nt checked the 02 sensors never thought of that could that also cause a missfire? so your saying all the problems i have you also have? thanks on the reply

 

I would love to know if your O2 sensors can cause that kind of havoc...i have a similar problem!

 

DID YOUR 02 SENSOR'S FIX YOUR PROBLEM ? i need to get it diagnose but dont have time to take it in to a shop i work 6 days a week.

 

Alfred, are those still the cold plugs that you were running with the N20? or are the the proper heat range for an NA engine?

I just got off the phone with LE toys motorsports which are professional mechanics that have a dyno. and they said i was suppose to unplug a brown wire that has white stripes before setting timing i did'nt do that and said that i timing could be retarded by up to 18 deg. any body know about thAT
