94 Z28 Passenger Side Motor Mount

Hello-

I am in the process of going through my car to reduce the overall engine movement since she moved forward this summer and decided to nibble the ps hoses.

I replaced a trans mount that was torn in two parts and a driver side motor mount that was on its last legs. I am currently engaged in replacing the passenger side motor mount need a sanity check. I am replacing with poly mounts. The stock mount is off. I am able to get the replacement mount in and contorted into *almost* the right spot. I can't seem to get the engine side mount to arch up and clear the bolt hole that sticks out. Keep in mind I am doing this after removing nothing and jacking the motor up by the bell of the transmission. Removing the starter will give more room, but behind where I need it. Did I mention I am doing this next to a set of pacesetter headers?

Any tips or advice would be appreciated. It feels so, so close. On the upside I think I came up with some new vulgar words on the way...

Are you saying that the new poly mount is in place, but you cannot get the engine side to line up front and back?

If so, when changing to poly recently (but also changing the cross member), I was able to get the front hole to line up by jacking slightly on the front of the engine (passenger side completely mounted). I was then able to get the bolt in the front mount. After that, I removed the transmission mount and was able to lower the rear of the engine to get the rear hole to line up. I wont lie, it was a pain in the rear.

so I used a ratcheting tie down and brought the engine over about 1/2 inch - everything went back together fine!

DONE!

Yes they can. Props to those who change them with the motor in the car. I didn't want any piece of that. I changed mine when I pulled the engine for my cam swap.

No joke with in the car. I did mine while swapping the kmember, and still had a hell of a time on the driver side one because of the headers.
