My 94 Z has a problem in the 1000 to 2000 RPM Range. It feels like the car is being jerked violently forwards and backwards. I've replaced the trans mount and the driveshaft and it still does it. In order for this problem to occur the car must have the clutch fully engaged (clutch pedal up, car in gear), engine must be at 1K to 2K and starting from a stop or moving at a constant speed (never during acceleration). For some reason, the car does it even MORE on smooth surfaces like fresh black top.

The engine itself runs like a champ at all RPM's as long as it's in neutral.

Do you have an aftermarket clutch?

 

No. it's the stock clutch. I thought it may be a clutch problem, but it never slips.
