okay i installed a in the pump fuel pump from up top, cut a hole in the hatch. okay well i notice acouple days later a bad gas smell and gas leaked out from somewhere? i haven't driven the cars for months cause i'm installing mods. anyhow a fuel line that goes to the top of the tank- it runs down under the tank to a small while round plastic thing??? whatever this thing is the fuel is coming out of it... its not running down the hose from the top cause i checked. what is this thing... i need to replace it asap- thanks Jeff

 

That's a vent. Fuel never should be high enough to get in that hose. Doubt it's a problem. Is it possible while you working on the car you have it at an extreme angle or maybe you accidently pressurized the tank by putting compressed air in one of the tank lines?

 

hmm well the car is on jack stand pretty high just in the front and i left the lines unattached for acouple days till i put them back on. so within that time the fuel must have leaked out of that vent thing. then today i have the front still on stands and the rear with a jack raised too the same level. so do you think i will be fine once the fuel left in the vent drips out or what???
