Unhappy 94 Z service engine soon light

We took the wife's 94 Z out the other evening and the service light started coming on. I noticed when it was on, the cooling fan was running. I have a friend that is going to scan it for me. I just wanted to know if any one has had the same thing happen? It seems wierd that when the light came on the fan would start???Thanks, Russ

I was unaware of a recall. I will check into it. I have been dealing with some medical issues. Hopefully I can get it scanned this week or next. Thanks Russ

I think anytime a SES light is thrown, the fans kick on as a protective measure.

Had the same problem, SES light would come on, mainly highway driving, then fans would come on, scanned it, was the egr valve, replaced it, problem fixed. Thats what happened to my car, could be many other things.

The AIR pump only comes on for the first 5 minutes or so of engine running. If it happend while driving more then likely it did not blow a fuse when the pump was not on. I'm gonna go with EGR. Its a common problem, and will happen usually when you accelerate fast and let off the gas.
