Hi Folks,

First time poster:


Just bought a '94 Z convert with 97K rounds. Crazy fluctuating temp gauge. Flush and filled twice but engine keeps eating coolant...none present in new oil change. Relief valve lets very little coolant out when up to operating temp---sometime steam.

Where would you start for a fix?

does it smoke, does the coolant boil over or have oily residue in it?

compression test?
pressure test cooling system?

 

The intakes on these are dry, as in no water flows to or through them. I am sure not something you wanted to hear. Would have been nice if the fix was that simple.
