'94 Z = Lots of white smoke

Whenever I start my car, it smokes a lot (white) and smells very heavily like burnt gas/carbon dioxide. Anyone know what it is or could be?

Check your coolant, see if it's low. If it is, you may have a head gasket issue.

Or it could be normal (hard to tell on an internet forum) - starting a cold engine will burn off moisture that's accumulated over night.

How long does this smoke last? Usually antifreeze smoke smells sweeet, but almost anything is possible with our cars. In my opinion, it might be cat. converter stopping up - but that is strictly a guess. Does it do this after the car warms up?

The car has been sitting for a good 4 months. I run it up once a week. It smokes a little less when it warms up.

I agree with Billy. It could be a few different things, but a clogged up catalytic convertor puts out a lot of smoke.
