94 lt1 miss
Ive got a 94 z28 all stock and i got a miss under a light load and only when its warmed up if im at crusin speed at about 40 and i apply the brake and give it gas at the same time it misses like crazy studders pops backfires surges any tips?
Re: 94 lt1 miss
It misses when you are going 40MPH and apply the brake and the throttle at the same time? Not sure why you do that, but does it misfire at any other times? How about when going up a hill in top gear?
Re: 94 lt1 miss
i had it in at work today and it had a few codes because of a couple sensors i unplugged testing it but i checked the wires and they looked good and not touching anything i had one of the techs ride with me today after work and he thinks its ignition related if your crusing at 55 and apply light throttle thats when it misses the most its didnt throw any codes after the drive im gonna try to put a set of plugs and wires on it is there any certain brand of wires and plugs you guys reccommend
Re: 94 lt1 miss
Look under the hood in pitch black. You'll find your problem if its ignition related. U may even have too give it some throttle too see but I went through some of the same issues in july. Everything looked great during the day but at night I. had a lightshow worthy of disney land going on under my hood. M.s.d superconductor 8.5mm wires. Make sure they're routed perfect or they'll burn just like any other wire. Watch the coil closely in the dark as well. I had one arc between the mounting bracket and the coil housing itself.
Re: 94 lt1 miss
First start it in the dark. Look for arching. I would get new plugs and plug wires. It's a chore but that's most likely what it is. I just put msd8.5 mm wires on mine. It has long tubes and the install wasn't too hard the second time around. I would go to jegs and het some heat shield boots that go over the plug wires for extra safety
Re: 94 lt1 miss
How do you know? lol but ya when your o2 sensor goes bad it will choke your car out. If it gets bad enought it will actually kill it from pouring too much gas into it.
