94' LT1 in a 96' Car

I found a 94' Motor semi built up that comes with ECU and all wiring.
I wanted to put it in my 1996 Impala. Will the ECU be the same?
Wiring Harness?
Will the emissions ****'s be able to tell?
What other mods would I need to do ?
First time Poster but long time LT1 owner
any help is appreciated
thanks

Its OBDI when you have an OBDII harness, it can be done but it will be a bitch and wont pass emissions. Find a 96 like I did and it will be a lot more smooth.

Provided you use the 96 harness, pcm, knock sensor and exhaust manifolds, it will be just fine. You will also need a 94 opti harness since the 95 one is vented and the 94 is non vented. The only reason it would not pass emissions is because it doesn't have a crank sensor and the OBDII will set a code. If you don't have to pass emissions, you can just convert to the 94 PCM. All you need to do is keep the original knock sensor in the block of the 94 engine and install the 94 PCM in place of the 96.

EDIT: Just read you had an Impala. You will need to install a second knock sensor in the block if it doesn't already have one. If you have a tach right now, it won't work correctly with the 94 PCM.

Please excuse my ignorance.
But does the 94 block have a crank sensor ?
I need to pass emissions, So I guess the best way is to keep the 96' ECU and harness. What will need to be added or modified to do this ?
New Mexico doesnt have the strictest emissions laws.

94 doesn't have crank sensor, 96 does..
96 also has a different timing cover [the 96 opti is vented, and the crank sensor is in the 96 timing cover]
Blocks are the same.. just swap the timing cover? then use the hub and balancer off the 96, and the vented opti too?
[I am not positive that the B body is the same as F body, you should verify that first..]
