94 Camaor Z28 rough hesitation throughout RPM band
94 Camaro Z28 rough hesitation throughout RPM band
Hey guys,
I have a problem. Notes on the car:
1994 Camaro Z28
-150,000 miles
-Auto transmission
-Opti, coil, plugs, and wires replaced 20,000 miles ago
-New fuel pump/filter
-New O2 sensors
-No SES light
My problem is that the car has a bad hesitation/stumble throughout the RPM band. The car also vibrates badly has the RPM's go higher.
At first the problem only showed up at half to wide open throttle, now a month later it occurs at any throttle range and even has a rough idle to boot now. No smoke coming from exhaust, looks clean.
I cannot for the life of me figure it out, I do not want to take this to the (st)ealer $$$ but I will if I have to. I was wondering what input you guys could give me as to solving this problem myself before it comes to that.
Thanks for any advice you could give.

Re: 94 Camaor Z28 rough hesitation throughout RPM band
I replaced my plug wires because I burnt the #6 wire because of the header, so I replaced them with some 8.5mm wires, and man they are a pain to route through the factory location on the pass side of the block. I had a problem with the wires trying to slip back off @ the opti. and of course it led to the same problem within a couple of days of the wire change
Re: 94 Camaor Z28 rough hesitation throughout RPM band
Thanks Bw Hunter. I had already looked at the plug wires but after reading your post, I decided to double-check them again more thoroughly and found the problem. Plug wire #8 was burned through just a little bit from the exhaust manifold just enough to cause the problem. Replaced the wire and problem solved.
Thank you.
Thank you.
