i bought a ZZ9 cam off of a friend of mine that had a 94Z with the non-vented opti...i remembered to have the dowl pin put in because the 94Z has a short dowl and the 95 has a long dowl....what complete skipped my mind was the hole in the 95 cam to recieve the vented opti drive that come out of the back of the opti...a couple questions...

(1)Can i rebuild my opti and put the 94 style drive in that will meet up w/ this cam and still keep it a "Vented" system??

(2)break out the cordless and drill the hole out so it will work? i believe it is 1inch deep and about 1/2inch wide

(3)hack off the shaft that goes into the cam and say screw drilling it out?

1 reason being i do not want to take my pan, timeing cover back a part and get new gaskets...if i can do it while it is in the block so much the better..i have everything taped off so the shavings will not fall inside my cover

 

anyone ever had this issue? any ideas?? HELP!
