I'm having trouble with the driver side #1 Primary tube, the one that is a slip fit. It hits the heat shield that covers the brake lines. Anybody else have this problem? I mean it is right against the heat shield tight.

 

My AS&M header primary is right up on that heat shield pretty tight. As long as the cable for the hood latch isn't right behind that, I think it should all be ok.

 

Does it rattle against the tube while the engine is running? I had to take the heat shield off and route the hood release cable behind the shield because before it was outside of the shield and right against the header tube.

 

If anything I wouldn't leave off the heat shield. I did in fact reroute my hood cable behind the heat shield and its not right behind where the primary touches the heat shield. Mine doesn't make any noticeable vibration.

 

I didn'y leave it off. Just rerouted the cable behind it and put it back on. So how do you like the headers? Any noticeable improbvement in power or sound? I had my heads rebuilt and installed the hot cam kit as well as headers. Just trying to get these headers done so I can fire it up.

 

I love the sound the headers and the ORP made with my 2OTL. Power increase seems to be good but I think I'm getting a lot of false knock because the passenger collector is vibrating against the body. I do have the LT4 KM but it vibrates a lot!
