94-95 Mac headers on a '97

Did a search...but I have a couple questions about Mac midlength headers/single cat y-pipe....

I have a '97 Z28, and I want to convert to a single cat and run the 94-95 style Macs. I want to keep my AIR and EGR, etc....basically keep everything as stock as possible.

Will I need O2 sims? (dont want to reprogram)

I have heard of a few people having issues with the AIR fittings on the '97 cars not fitting into the AIR provisions on the Mac headers....is this true? If so, does anyone sell an adapter fitting?

Does anyone sell an S-pipe to mate the 94-95 sinlge cat y-pipe to the rest of the stock '97 exhaust? Or should I just get a shop to weld one up?

Does anyone offer any kind of dual-to-single cat conversion package that will include everything I need (basically everything I asked about above )

Thanks for your help guys

You have it about figured out...

You'll need to get 2 o2 sims for the rear o2 sensors, and also you'll need to have an S pipe made to mate it to your catback...

Generally speaking the single cat y-pipe comes with a starter pipe that has to be welded to the front of your cat converter. Since you have dual cats, I'm not sure, but you may need to buy a single cat car's cat converter or just run a straight pipe from the collector on the Y to yoru cat-back exhaust...

Other than that, no programming is required. There is a possibility that you might have to extend your front o2 wires to make them reach the o2 bungs on the headers... I can't confirm that one though...

Good Luck...

You don't have to run a single cat setup if you are willing to spend
some $$ on a dual cat system. It just depends on your budget. A
dual 2.5" system will perform better than a single 3".
