94-95 headers on a96

i was just wondering if 94-95 headers will fit on a 96 if i delete the rear o2's. Because i have heard that the driver side header is different.

The headers will fit. The reason I say this is I use to have dual cats on my car. Because california in 95, the f-bodies that were equipped with A4s in 95 were given dual cats. So I decided to do the dual cat to single cat conversion. I bought a set of mac headers and y-pipe for a single cat car. The fit was perfect. The only thing that I needed was a s-pipe to connect the i-pipe to the cat and you will need to buy a cat or if you don't have emissions off road pipe and thats pretty much it. Oh yeah you might wanna extend the o2 sensor wires on the driverside because I notice it was alittle bit too short to reach the y-pipe. But thats pretty much it. And since you are deleting your rear o2s thru PCM which I am thinking, than you don't need o2 sims. If you do this conversion you will be glad that you did the conversion since you can get to all your plugs and you don't have that coffee can cat on the driverside which is next to the block and oil filter. If you have any more questions please feel free to e-mail me or send me a PM. I would be glad to help you out. Also if you need a step by step guide to install the headers I can give you a site as well. Good luck

I am looking into that setup right now.

Single cat conversion:

Mac 93-95 headers
slp s pipe
ORP or maybe carsound cat
02simms(need 2 right?)

You're basically looking at the exact same setup as me, but instead of buying O2 sims, I'm looking to have them removed from the computer by www.madz28.com for $75. Not only will the rear O2's be deleted, but for that same $75, I can have my fan's programmed to come on sooner, I can remove my speed limiter and also one other thing. Sure beats $90 for O2 sims.

I just saw that you have programming from pcmforless. He can also do everything I mentioned above. Don't forget you can get the MAC's jet hot coated directly from jet hot for $561 to your door.

I think you have just about everything in your list right. I wouldn't go with O2 sims i would just do a OBD1 conversion.

hey man, don't know about 94-95 to a 96,,,,but i bought 94-95 headers for my 97, and the headers themselves bolted right up perfectly, but the threading on the egr tubes on the front of the header don't match up to the stock egr things,,,i wen't EVERYWHERE to try to match the thread, even a company that manufactures them, and its a special gm thread, and obviously gm doesn't make anything to adapt like that to any aftermarket,,just saying before you take your car apart, take off the egr adapter and see if it screws into your header....i think 1997 is the only year that has that special threading. just saying.

Aren't those the AIR fittings that you're talking about?

Cool

This step by step guide was written by Jordan Musser. The step by step guide made installing the macs a breeze. Here is the link:http://www.fastblackcar.com/camaro/mac_headers.html. Enjoy. And thank Jordan Musser for the awesome step by step guide. Good luck and if you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me or send me a PM.
