Exclamation 94-95 headers on a 97. Please help!

I am putting the following exhaust components on my car 97 WS6;
1)94-95 single cat Jet-Hot coated MAC headers and y-pipe
2)MAC off-road pipe
3)02 sims
4)94-95 single cat Borla adjustable cat-back

I was wondering if there's a difference in the AIR fitting size or not? Also, everything should work, right?

I'm going to use GM metal manifold gaskets, new 02 sensors and Taylor OVC wires with new plugs. What type of spark plug is best? I was thinking of either delco plats or NGK TR55 plats.

Thanks, and if there's any problems with my set-up, please let me know.

Tyler

Looks like you have all the parts.

The AIR fitting sizes are the same.

Its the length of rubber tubing that sometimes differs.

But if you have a 97 you should be fine. You should have more than enough tubing.

I went with SLP 94/95's in mine and the passenger side AIR fitting hooked up fine but I had to do some modification to the driver side to hook it up, I would assume it would be similar for MAC's but not sure. I used the Felpro 1406 gaskets, Taylor 8mm wires in stock locations and the NGK TR55 plugs. No problems with any of them for over a year now.

Nipple/coupling is different.
Here is some thing I never get to try it. Take old one off form mainfold. put it on MAC. Other wise you have to make CUSTOM make.

Which nipple coupling?

I did headers on a 96 and everything was fine. I assumed 97 was the same?

You have to re-use the stock Air fittings because the Mac headers don't come with new ones.

Where Air tube goto Header that metal part will not thread on Header
96-97 are same
I have 96 TA with 94-95MAC headers
I had to custom make the Adapter to fit on Air tubes

Is there an advantage to running the 94-95 style Macs with Off Road Y over the 96-97 Macs with Off road Y ? I can see where there would be with the SLP's but where is there an advantage with the MAC's ?

THanks

There are two reasons why I chose the 94-95 style over the 96-97. First off, the drivers side header on 96-97 style headers is somewhat bunched up because of the factory two cat configuration where as the 94-95 style is not bunched up.
Secondly, the single cat MACs are cheaper than the 96-97's and also the 94-95 cat-backs tend to be cheaper as well.

Just don't break a manifold bolt off in this one. I don't want to have to take another out.
