94 4l60e into a 97 camaro

Hey guys,
I have a race built trans out of a 94 TA that I want to put in my 97 SS. Is there anything I will need to do? Am I better off running OBD1 or OBD2 with this? Can I reflash my 97 pcm to run the 94 trans?

Thanks,
Jay

i have heard 95-97 4l60e's are different than the 94 4l60e
93 has the 4l60 of course,

do a search maybe if no one else replies,

i know the converters are compatible,

I sold a 94 4L60E to a buddy who has a 95 with the PWM. Bryan at pcmforless.com made me a .LT1 file to "correct for the difference" (not sure what exactly he had to do though). Works great and no issues at all with the tranny. Not sure if the 96/97 would be any different than the 95 though?

You got the answer. You'll need to be able to reprogram the pcm or go with obd1. I think PCM4Less might be able to program your 97 or at least sell you a obd1 that has it. If your in Ca you will probably have to stay with the obd2 and have it reprogrammed.

Thumbs up

Thanks Hal,
I understand about the pwm valvebody and reprograming the PCM but I was hoping to find someone that has done this... and had some lessons learned first hand... I just haven't seen anyone do this and post about any pros or cons. Thanks again everyone for the info.
