BudM,
I just looked at the pics of your 'Maro. Nice ride! It was hard to tell but I believe the '93 I'm looking at is the same body color.

Where did you buy the strut tower brace? Cost?
What brand headers? Cost?

For anyone, are there any headers available for a '93 that will install without jacking the engine up?

Later
Chris

i picked up my 93 green gray metalic z with 68k, it was a one owner in great condition minus a scratch on the door.. $4900. I love the car to death for bolt ons.. you might want to look around for a bit to see if you can find anything for a little less$$

InjectedSS

I hate to tell you this but all 93's arent junk.. last time i check 12.5@105 with headers, csi, stall, and ghetto cai wasnt' to bad of a time.

It's okay. Don't let some imature kid tell you off about buying a 93. The only reason he thinks the 95 is best is cause his parents probably bought him one. As for the hesitation problems, ALL of the LT1's have the same problem. Regardless of year. Once you get the low RPM hesitation issue resolved, you'll findthe HP to be quite adequate. I like my 93 cause I can read my own engine codes, no expensive MAF sensor, and my tranny isn't controlled by my computer. That's my way of thinking. The price may be a little much, but if it was well maintained it's not. Remember, anything taken care of = longer life.

Cool

Sounds like a very nice car.Some models came with lower rear gears,and this can be checked by getting the code off the glove compartment door.(G2,G3,G5 ect.)Iwould take the car to the dealer,or a good mechanic if you can find a nowledgeable one, and have it thoughly checked out($about $100.00 or so.as this will bring up any suprisses if there are any,and you can negotiate maybe to a lower price if you still want the car.If the owner refuses to have the car examined,walk,Run away.He or she may be hideing somthing.I don't understand how (especially on an f-body),how there can be no maintenance records.I've got a library full.Hope this helps.

Wow, great comeback. Did you think of that all by yourself? You really should check what you post, you sound like a 6 year old.

Anyways, Matt_Ky you should definantly look into that 93. I found mine with only 43k miles on her. It's a great car, and I've beaten my fair share of other model year LT1s. There is no "best" year for the LT1, it's just up to what people want to believe. An LT1 is an LT1. Don't worry about what InjectedSS posted. Some people just like pissing other people off. The only real differences are that 95s were the first year for the vented opti, they were MAF controlled, dual cats were put on in Cali, and traction control was first offered. Get the 93 and enjoy yourself!

I love my 93 with only gears and a cat-back I went 13.8 at 102.5 with no traction. so dont let anyone tell you there not fast and they respond well to bolt on's . As far as being sorry i own one, thats pretty funny, it took a lot of intelllect for that retort.
as far being slow, a tune up and new fuel filter might clean that up
anyway i would not hesitate to buy another

i couldnt tell you the exact gears on the non electronic autos... but on the 4l60e if you can select first you have 3.23 and not you have 2.73s (due to epa drive by noise requriements) that may have something to do with it feeling sluggish

93 = JUNK
94 = OK
95 = BEST
96 = GOOD
97 = GOOD
Gimme a break dude. I've got two very reliable, VERY well running 93's. The first year always has little nuances, but nothing that can't be overcome.
Where on earth are you bringing this biased opinion from anyway?

Oh, and by the way, it's been noted more than a few times that 93's respond better to mods than other years.

"How you like dem' apples?!"

Talking

The matter of opinion comes to mine when people talk about what year is the best. I have driven ford and chevy. They are all junk. You want a dependable car buy a neon or sentra.

Of course a 96 or 98 is going to better than a 93 or 94. DUH! Improvements over the years come to mine. Depends on what you are looking for in a car. Price, insurance, is what made my decison.

I have just a purchased a 94 z28 and already having engine problems. I have and owned 88 gt, 90 gt mustangs. Two camaro's and two trans ams.

Lets face it, we buy these camaro for what they are....sport cars.... Run the crap out of all of them and have fun. I have yet seen one that was more than a three years old that was "dependable"

For all of you hp and torque junkies buy a jet. You can get so wrapped up in numbers you forget how fun these cars really are. I have a cbr600f4i, you want power....... try 1/4 mile in 11 seconds with 3.55 seconds in 0-60. Buy the way, 96 hp is all the bike has......
