93 Z28 Rear End

I'm wondering if there is anyway for me to find out if I have a 8.8 rear end or a 7.5 rear end. I bought the car used and did not come with the specs.

I do believe that ALL 4th gen cars come with a coprorate 7.5" rear.

So I'm guessing the 12 bolt gears I have aren't going to fit??

Do you have an old school one or a newer aftermarket one. The aftermarket one should fit, but if it's old school then I do believe there's some fabrication to be done but it can be made to fit.

I think he's talking about just the gears, not the whole rear end.

Yea.....Just the gears...I have Richmond 3.73's in my house but I got them for a 12 bolt rear end. Just need to know if they will fit or if I should send em back.

Nope. They're bigger than the 7.5 gears. I'm not sure how big the 12 bolt is though. Just never knew that part. 8.8 anyone???

In any case, you need 7.5" gears.
