93 z iat sensor reads 317 deg F ?
my freind has a 93 z , the car runs ( could run better) his only mods are mac headers, cai, hypertech stage 2 chip, when we scan the car ( scanner from jegs, actron)the air intake temp reading starts off normal(just after starting the car) at whatever the outside temp is, or close to it, then it keeps going up , does not matter if you sit still w/car at idle , or drive down the road? also the fuel trim BLM's are at 108 , anybody had this before or any ideas to the cause of this? has not set off any codes, we replaced the ait sens w/new still the same
Re: 93 z iat sensor reads 317 deg F ?
If you BLM's are at 108, they're pegged on the rich side and your part throttle performance and fuel mileage is going to suffer. Not sure if your AIT is affecting your BLMs. I see Tunercat in your signature; does that mean you tuned it yourself?
As far as the IAT readings I'd double check the wiring but definitely wierd if the temp starts out normal.

no it's not my car it is a freinds 93 z and I have not tuned it. was thinking that his scanner was wrong ,or it was the hypertech chip he has in it, if it is a datalogging error what and how should we do about it?
and we have checked the wiring to the ait sensor

Let me go on to say that the computer doesn't suppport anything higher than 160ish F.. so no matter what type of failure wiring or sensor.. you cannot report that high of IAT
