93 TA engine into 94 Z28

What are some of the things I would need to be aware of when swapping an engine from a 93 TA into a 94 Z28? I have both PCMs but would like to stick with the PCM from the Z28. I will also be using the 4L60E from the Z28. I'm in the process of dropping the engine out the bottom now on the 94 Z28 and have the 93 engine on a stand ready to go. I will likely need some assistance in deciphering codes and how to fix/bypass them when I get to the point of actually firing it up. I have a code scanner and will try to record any and all codes that come up.

Thanks for any and all assistance. I have Shbox.com already bookmarked and have used it for many things in the past.

Thanks,

Greg

Swap the complete intake (incl fuel rails, injectors, TB...) from the 94 to the 93 and you should be pretty much good to go. Basically use all the plumbing from the 94 (like AIR and EGR, if you are including them). Good idea to stick with the 94 PCM and wiring.

Only difference I can think of is the crossover tube on the fuel rail.

Re: 93 TA engine into 94 Z28

The 93 has the old style flat 3-prong TPS plug and the IAC is the old style 4-pin square plug. Reuse the 94 Throttle Body.

Remove the oil pressure switch from the side of the block and relocate it to behind the intake drivers side or the harness will never reach.
Swap intakes use the '94 set up it has 24 lb. Injectors and the '93 has 22lb. Injectors.
Use the '94 manifolds or headers with the '94 parts installed. The '94 has heated O2 sensors at this point you should be good to go..

If he has an early 94 the o/p sensor will be in the same place. If not, then he will have to move it.

Re: 93 TA engine into 94 Z28

Thanks everyone for the prompt responses. I was hoping to swap over the 94's intake anyway because of the two areas that appear to be blocked off on the back side of the 93's intake. I'll be sure to check on the oil pressure switch location - that could've been a stumbling block. And I plan to bolt up my nearly new exhaust manifolds anyway so thanks for that as well. Makes things appear rather "simple".

I LOVE this site!

Thanks again to everyone who replied!
